چکیده

Power system transient stability assessment (TSA) and control is a complex problem. TSA from the perspective of individual machine Kimbark curves forms distinctive approach. On other hand, constrained optimal power flow (TSC-OPF) has been adopted widely for determining preventive actions against instabilities under given contingency. This paper presents strategy control, which mainly integrates concepts methods based global TSC-OPF. The proposed workflow on most severely disturbed machines (MDM) their critical trajectories. Transient Stability Assessment Using Individual Machine Equal Area Criterion Part I: Unity Principle

Analyzing system trajectory from the perspective of individual machines provides a distinctive angle to analyze the transient stability of power systems. This two-paper series propose a direct-time-domain method that is based on the individualmachine equal area criterion. In the first paper, by examining the mapping between the trajectory and power-vs-angle curve of an individual machine, the s...

Preventive and Emergency Transient Stability Control

A unified approach to transient stability closed-loop control is presented. It relies on the general transient stability method called SIME, from which the Preventive and the Emergency SIMEs are derived. The Preventive SIME uses time-domain simulations of plausible contingencies prior to their occurrence, for the online power system monitoring from the control room. The Emergency SIME, on the o...

Transient Stability Assessment Using Fuzzy SVM and Modified Preventive Control

Transient Stability is an important issue in power systems planning, operation and extension. The objective of transient stability analysis problem is not satisfied with mere transient instability detection or evaluation and it is most important to complement it by defining fast and efficient control measures in order to ensure system security. This paper presents a new Fuzzy Support Vector Mac...

A Comprehensive Approach to Transient Stability Control: Part I—Near Optimal Preventive Control

A general approach to real-time transient stability control is proposed, and two complementary techniques are devised: one for preventive, the other for emergency control. In this paper, the general transient stability control approach is first revisited then applied to real-time preventive control. The technique consists of shifting active power generation. The amount of power and the machines...
